Many of you know that I organize a group of yoga teachers who’ve been teaching free classes at Andrew’s Greenhouse in Amherst Massachusetts for the past nine summers.
We offer an all-levels class every day, rain or shine, 8:00-9:00 AM. Two years ago we started teaching year round by moving indoors November through May.
I only teach on Sundays, but every day, if I am in town, I head to Andrews for my daily yoga practice. I love being outdoorsm and I love being with a group of curious people dedicated to inquiry about the nature of the mind-body connection. An hour of breath-centered movement leaves me focused, calm, and ready for the rest of my day.
It is a true blessing in my life.
This summer was busy with travel (more about that later), and Starry Starry Kite took a back seat to a new endeavor which turned Yoga Outside into a 501©(3) nonprofit organization with a larger mission to make vibrant good health accessible to all by offering more routes to wellness. We’ve already added Meditation Practice, Nature Walks, a Yoga of Dreams Workshop, Qigong, and Tai Chi. We have plans to offer sound-bathing, informational talks about managing perimenopause and menopause, and understanding osteopenia and osteoporosis.
All of our teachers donate their time and expertise, and all of our offerings continue to be free and open to all. We are raising money to cover the cost of indoor space rental.
Please explore our developing website at www.everydaywellbeing.org
And, please spread the word about our offerings by sharing and subscribing to our newsletter. If you are local to western Massachusetts, I hope to see you at one of the events listed below. The Silent Auction is open for bidding through October 31st.

Interested in Other Mind-Body Practices?
Maybe you know someone for whom yoga doesn’t quite work. Maybe they have arthritic knees, a cranky back, a mind and body that craves more movement. Spread the word about…
Qigong
Saturdays after Yoga 9:15-10:00 AM October 12th, 19th, and 26th
Qigong is a gentle, healing practice that incorporates slow movements, deep breathing, self massage, and meditation. It’s easier on the joints than many yoga postures and is especially gentle on the knees, wrists and shoulders. A mostly standing practice that is over 5,000 years old, Western research has proven Qigong's healing and preventative health effects.
Tai Chi
Mondays after Yoga 9:15-10:00 AM October 14th, 21st, and 28th
Tai chi is an ancient Chinese martial art. Initially developed for combat and self-defense, it has evolved into a gentle, low-impact form of exercise in which practitioners perform a series of deliberate, flowing motions while focusing on deep, slow breaths. Often referred to as "meditation in motion," tai chi provides benefits to mental and physical health by balancing the body's chi (vital energy).
